Alex Timoshenko, MS, MT-BC, LCAT-LP

Alexandra (Alex) Timoshenko is a New York-based licensed creative arts therapist (limited permit) and a board-certified music therapist.

Alex serves Insight Creative Arts Therapy both administratively and clinically as Program Coordinator and as a music therapist. She earned both her Bachelor of Science (2021) and Master of Science (2023) Degrees in Music Therapy from Molloy University. Though she had the incredible opportunity to work in a variety of settings during her clinical training, including a special education preschool, nursing/rehabilitation home, childcare facility, and pediatric medical hospital, her passion is in private practice here at ICAT, where she co-runs the clinic and services clients of all ages and abilities!

Alex also feels very connected to her work with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, and dedicated her Master’s Thesis Research Project titled How Music Therapists Experience Improvising with Nonspeaking Clients: A Thematic Analysis (a study that explores music therapists’ subjective experiences improvising with nonspeaking clients diagnosed with intellectual disabilities) to this work. She also serves clients suffering from anxiety, stress, and trauma.

Currently, Alex is working on her PhD in Counseling & Psychological Studies with a Human Services Concentration at Regent University. She looks forward to meeting you soon!
